As a cat lover and breeder, I have had the privilege of traveling the world to collect the best kitties on earth. My childhood dream was to breed the rare and beautiful Himalayan cats, a breed that was developed 50 years ago at Harvard University in a genetics study. The Himalayan is a cross between a Siamese and a Persian cat, resulting in the delightful markings of a mask, boots, and tail with a cream-colored body.
One of the unique features of the Himalayan is their eye color, which can range from pink or apricot (known as a cream point or flame point) to silver or blue-gray (known as a blue point) and brown (known as a seal or chocolate point). But my signature breeding achievement is the rare royal electric blue eye color, the color of the Mediterranean ocean or Maui blue.
In my Arcadia home, my cats live in a delightful environment filled with laser light shows and special attention to toys and play. They run free and are extremely loved, which makes for a precious relationship. With 40 years of experience breeding Himalayans, I have developed rare techniques and care for my cats, and I am happy to share my knowledge with others through tutorials on shampooing and conditioning from this year’s pet grooming conference and eye care that simplifies kitten care.
